Casper Soccer Club Coaching Staff
Director of Coaching – Rick Mullins has been in the soccer world for over 50 years as a player, coach, director and administrator. Rick is serving as the Director of Coaching for the Casper Soccer Club and its programs of CSC Blades, Rec Soccer programs and camps. He is excited to help CSC and soccer in Casper and Wyoming grow!
As one of the top soccer players to come out of Central Washington, Rick played collegiately for the Community Colleges of Spokane where his team won the school’s first championship. Rick then transferred to Central Washington University where he was Team Captain (1991-1993), MVP (1992-1993), three time Most-Inspirational player and three-time 1st team All-League player. He finished 2nd in career points at the school.
Rick also played semi-pro soccer for both the USL Yakima Reds and USL Spokane Shadow, and was inducted into the Community Colleges of Spokane Athletic Hall of Fame in 2008.
Rick has obtained several coaching licenses including the USSF National ‘A’ license, National Youth License, National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Advanced National Diploma, NSCAA Regional Goalkeeping Diploma, NSCAA Professional Development Certificate, and the NSCAA Director of Coaching Diploma. Recently, he has obtained multiple US Soccer Grassroots licenses & hopes to become a national grassroots instructor in the future as well as pursuing UEFA licenses.
Rick is best described as a humble man that has contagious energy and passion to help kids through the avenue of sports. In his free time Rick enjoys fly fishing, supporting Liverpool FC.
Assistant Director of Coaching – Ben McArthur grew up with soccer. His dad was the local youth soccer director in his hometown of Elkins, West Virginia. He spent his Friday nights mowing the fields, lining fields, and moving goals for Saturday games.
After being an All State forward, he played 4 years of NCAA D2 soccer at Davis and Elkins College. While in college he started coaching a U14 team and got the coaching bug. After college, he moved to Idaho where he met his wife Janelle and coached high school soccer for a year before moving to Iowa to start his college coaching career at Waldorf University. Ben has been a college coach for 13 years now with the last 11 as a head coach.
He moved to Casper 5 years ago to start the CC Men’s soccer program. Under his leadership, the T-birds have an overall record of 58-23-9. In 2023, they were top 8 in the nation and Ben was named Region 9 Coach of the Year.
Janelle and Ben have 7 kids with the oldest 6 playing in CSC programs. When Ben is not coaching soccer, he enjoys hunting, camping and the great Wyoming outdoors.
Ben is excited to be a part of the Casper Soccer Club and will continue helping the youth develop their skills and grow their love for soccer!
